29. What's the best way to approach Acumen to handle a custom project?

We do accept custom data recording and data communications projects when they fit with Acumen's mission. If your application is data recording- or communications-related, we're interested in hearing from you.
Typically, we ask that customers provide whatever project specifications are available verbally or in writing. From there, we evaluate the viability of the project and propose a work plan and monetary terms. These can vary from up-front non-recurring engineering (NRE) charges to prepayments to commitments to buy depending on the amount of custom work required and potential revenue.
Your best bet is to share any information you can about the project with us and open a dialogue. We're flexible and able to work within most companies' standard procedures or propose our own plan when needed.
