Starting and Stopping in an Embedded Application

8. How do I start and stop recording? Can a microcontroller or embedded system start and stop the SDR?

Starting and stopping can be done 3 different ways. The most common method is to press the "Start/Stop" button on the SDR front panel. The "Record" indicator will light up when the SDR is recording data to a file.
You can also start and stop the SDR using a serial terminal (usually a computer running HyperTerminal) connected to the configuration port. From the configuration menu, you can start and stop recording, examine files, etc. For embedded systems, the J4 connector provides a start/stop input as well as output state information for the front panel LEDs.
